I was honored to participate in Mia's bake sale today at the Y. I just want you to know that your family was on my mind as I walked the track with my own baby in his carrier and I lifted you all up in prayer. I hope the bake sale is successfull beyond your imagination.

Oh, and the snickerdoodles rocked!

My girls and I "met" baby Mia and your family through the bake sale at the Y today. It was the first time we've ever had a conversation about organ transplants, and it was a sobering conversation to have with a 9 and 5 yr old. We are all praying for Mia and for your family. God is a God of Miracles, and if nothing else, I pray for your peace, beyond understanding.

And, my girls loved buying treats!

What else can we do???

my best friend Mimi (she loves your name by the way:) was at this bake sale and called me to give me your blog info.

My daughter Izabell was born with IAA, VSD and has HB. She also has PHACES Assoction and has required lots of medical care and many surgeries. To help financially we applied for Children's assistance Compassionate care fund.. I hope that you have already applied for this and if not encourage your family to do so. WE did not apply for a while assuming that we would not get accepted because we have insurance but after so long and so many apts we needed help.

While at children's we met Jen and her daughter Zoe who had a transplant her web site is

http://www.thisheartbroken.com/

She has talked with others families and may be able to help you get in touch with more seattle heart transplant families who may be able to offer good information.

There is also a heart support group that meet at Children's the 1st Sunday of every month. We meet at 2pm -4pm in the meeting rooms by the cafeteria. Heart-to-Heart Congenital Heart Defects Support Group.

info on this group here...
This parent-led support group is for Puget Sound families of children affected by heart issues. We welcome families dealing with congenital heart defects (CHD), heart conditions from illness, heart transplant, or who are grieving the loss of a child to a heart condition.

We are here for parents who have been told that their unborn baby may have a heart problem. This group is also a place for our heart kids and their siblings to meet others who have gone through similar times.

We meet once a month at Children's Hospital in Seattle. Childcare is offered during the meetings. If you would like to join us or you want to know more, please call Josephine Young, MD at (425) 827-4600 or e-mail heartmom1204@yahoo.com.

ok I wrote a lot but hope some of this information will be helpful. feel free to email wyndilee@yahoo.com
