She is truly and gift from God and as I sit here with tears in my eyes, we too hope to have this feeling when Lindsay gets her heart. Love to you and happy homecoming!!! Heart Hugs! Suzie Dean
Dear McDonald Family, You don't know me, my name is HollyJo Karren and I am from Logan,Ut. I was searching for other transplant families and found the news story on your sweet baby Mia. What a blessing she is! My son, Easten, who is 1 1/2 goes to Primary Childrens in SLC Utah and had a rare liver disease called biliary atresia(non-genetic) and will be needing a liver transplant. He was diagnosed at 2 months of age and is still holding strong! I would love to hear from you-it seems to help when you can share your story and feel one anothers strengths, especially from mother to mother. I see the news feed and can see myself in those same situations and my son also had a feeding tube I changed as well as a PICC line I put meds through. I am so grateful for medical technology in these days! My e-mail address is rkarrenfam@msn.com.
The McDonalds have insurance but after heart operations, a heart transplant, plus all the doctor visits and a lifetime of medicine... it would financially destroy the best of us. Imagine the emotional rollercoaster that this would put any family on. These are the kind of people that would never ask for help like this. In fact, Mimi has done charity fund raisers for others in the past with nothing to gain for herself. That is why we are stepping in to ask on their behalf. This is what we propose: Donate a few dollars. Donate ONE dollar. It doesn't seem like much, but if you give one and then forward this on to others who donate one; well, one turns into a miracle. If you can afford to give more, please give what you can. Then, send this link to everyone you know and encourage them to make a donation and send it on to people they know. Ask yourself, "What is a heart worth, what is a life worth?"
