Mia Update!

Well I just returned from the hospital and that is one stinkin' cute baby! It is truly amazing to see the difference in her in only 1 day. Her coloring is better and besides being annoyed at the feeding tube being inserted she really seemed quite comfy and like she really felt better! Her face is a little swollen but she is making great strides! As I mentioned, she now has a feeding tube again and she got one of her chest tubes removed! Just a few more tubes and lines to go!
Mia even opened her eyes for a little awhile tonight! We all know she is a fighter and I truly believe that everyday she will get better and stronger! Way to go little mees!
Thank you all for your support and kindness over these last 4 months. We REALLY appreciate all the donations that have been received and are continuing to be received, as the financial burden a family encounters with a surgery like this continues on for years to come. We hope you feel blessed from the charity you've demonstrated and we hope you'll continue to spread the word about Mia and organ donation! Thanks so much!

What a Beautiful Baby!! Those eyes just say so much...if only she could tell us what she's thinking. What a peaceful, sweet baby. She seems like she has such a good disposition. She has put up with SO much. I'm so glad that she will finally get to heal and get away from all those tubes.

She looks amazing! Never expected her to be awake a little already. She is a fighter just like Lindsay!! These girls are going to be handfuls later on! I just can't put into words the joy that I feel for your entire family. God is so good and again answered many, many prayers!
Love to Mia and a speedy recovery accepting her new heart.

I don't even know Mia, but her story touches my heart and I pray for the McDonald family. So happy to see her improving. Her whole family is inspiring and makes me grateful for the small things that I take for granted. Thank you for writing her story.

My daughter has been operated on twice by Dr. Cohen there at the Children's Hospital. The 3rd time she got Dr's Permut and the new guy who's name escapes me. How lucky for this baby that she has been in such wonderful care as that cardiac team there. With luck, Mia will grow to a happy healthy strong girl. She is lucky to be where she is, I have quite a soft spot in my heart for the doctors, nurses, and staff in the Infant ICU, the Cardiac ICU, and Giraffe 4 (that's where Mia will go when she's finally well enough to leave the Cardiac ICU there). They truly do a wonderful job of saving our little children's hearts.
